Working in Partnership
Strong partnerships are critical to our success.
The Children’s Trust Approach consists of a single county-wide partnership board, 11 local Children and Young People’s Strategic Partnerships (CYPSP) and 27 local delivery groups. Individual agencies are responsible for collaborating through the Children’s Trust Arrangements to help deliver the priorities in the Children and Young People's Plan (CYPP) - click here to view the current plan (1879kb).
The CYPSP Board plans and oversees the commissioning of high quality services to meet the needs of children, young people and their families. Commissioning occurs at the local Children and Young People’s Strategic Partnership level unless there are cogent reasons for doing it at the county-wide or regional level.
Essex County Council is currently reviewing the way in which it delivers its’ services to children. This review will consider whether changes are necessary to ensure effective locality based approaches to meeting the needs of children and young people, and to deliver improved outcomes for children and young people.
It will also consider how our services can be delivered effectively with our key partner agencies, including schools and other educational providers, health services, district and borough councils, the community and voluntary sectors, as well as the police and fire services so that children and young people are able to access seamless services that meet their needs.
Key to the success of the review is the involvement of our staff and partners in the consultation process. Over the coming months, we will be engaging with all SCF staff, schools, PCT's, Police, District/Borough authorities and other statutory and non statutory agencies and organisations.
