This charity offers housing advice via the telephone and online.

Moving into adulthood
If you are a disabled teenager, Directgov offers advice on your transition to adult services and provide information on the choices you have to make on housing issues and independent living.

The Relatives & Residents Association (Essex)  
This is a new initiative which aims to provide information and support to older people and their families and friends on matters relating to residential care and the alternatives to it.

Find Housing

Family Mosaic
They provide good quality, affordable homes and housing services to people over Essex. Tenants can also gain valuable skills and experience though work placement and volunteering opportunities.

Regard  
They operate over 120 care homes for people with learning difficulties, mental health problems or acquired brain injuries. They also have services for children with learning disabilities and emotional and behavioural disorders.

Elderly Accommodation Counsel
They aim to help older people make informed choices about meeting their housing and care needs. It was founded in 1984 and registered as a charity in 1985. It is now commonly known as EAC

Richmond Fellowship
This voluntary organisation encourages, supports and challenges people with mental health problems on their recovery journey. They have a range of services across Essex, including supported housing for people with mental health problems, floating support and an employment service working along side the Mid Essex IAPT team (improving access to psychological therapies).

St Georges Community Housing
This company was set up by Basildon Borough Council to manage their council owned housing stock. For older and more vulnerable tenants they provide a number of sheltered housing schemes, each with 24-hour emergency care alarm cover.

Supporting People in Essex  
This is delivered by a range of 'not for profit' organisations, and commissions and monitors housing support services for vulnerable adults (16+). The support provided is aimed at improving the person's ability to live independently in their home/accommodation by providing them with the necessary skills.

Tourist Information Burnham-on-Crouch
The staff here have been trained to get tenants registered on Choice based letting. They will guide them through the process of viewing and bidding.

Support at home

Ideal Home Care Solutions
This is an independently owned company providing high quality care in the community. The company is dedicated to providing a client tailored service, enabling the individual to retain a greater level of independence. They provide assistance with Personal Care, Laundry and ironing, Budget management, medication and a range of other services.

Home Support at Colchester Borough Homes   
This is a free service for tenants and home owners aged 60 and over. It provides short term help to maintain their homes and to live independently within the community, and a wide range of services are all available online.
